Naomi's Co-op Takeaway's

As my winter co-op term at SEED comes to a close, I am reflecting on the invaluable experiences that were gained during my time here as Administrative and Communications Coordinator. Working alongside the S2S and YEP Teams these past few months has been so inspiring, and I am excited to share some of my key takeaways from this journey!

One of the most rewarding aspects of my time at SEED has been the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that directly impacts the lives of youth in our community. I've had the privilege of contributing to initiatives that make a real difference in people’s lives and every task felt purposeful and fulfilling. One of my favourite parts during my time here was participating in the S2S workshops and getting to meet the youth firsthand. I was really inspired hearing all the positive things they had to say about the program. I have gained a greater appreciation of how important it is to get employment resources out to youth who need it because there is no doubt that SEED has been life changing for so many of them, and I am so grateful to have been a part of it! My time at SEED has helped me realize that I want to continue doing work that makes a positive impact on people’s lives in the future.

Another aspect of my experience at SEED that I really enjoyed was the opportunity it provided for me to use my creativity. Being able to infuse my creativity into my daily tasks allowed me to make a meaningful impact, think outside the box, and bring fresh ideas to the table. I’ve acquired a diverse set of skills in this role that have helped me build a lot of professional confidence that I will carry with me in my future endeavors. Working with a team that celebrates diversity and inclusion has broadened my own appreciation for the importance of an environment where everyone’s voice is heard and valued. I am grateful for the co-op program and the guidance I received along the way which challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and learn new experiences outside of school.

Thank you SEED!
