SEED Board of Directors – Call for New Members
The Society for Enterprise Education and Development (SEED) is a registered charity dedicated to empowering young Nova Scotians through education, training, and employment support. Our mission is to foster economic participation, self-reliance, and personal growth by breaking down barriers and creating inclusive, community-driven pathways to success. We’re seeking passionate, community-minded leaders to join our Board of Directors and help shape SEED’s strategic direction and long-term impact. Who We’re Looking For We’re looking for individuals who bring diverse experiences, collaborative energy, and a strong belief in supporting youth development.
We are currently welcoming candidates with experience in:
• Finance, Accounting, or Audit (CPA designation considered an asset)
• Legal expertise (corporate law, governance, not-for-profit compliance)
• Education, youth services, or community development
• Governance, strategic leadership, or public sector collaboration
Lived experience with the barriers SEED aims to address is also deeply valued.
Board Member Responsibilities
As a SEED Board Member, you will:
• Attend quarterly Board meetings (2 hours, virtual)
• Provide strategic oversight and support SEED’s leadership team
• Contribute to Board committees or projects as needed
• Act as an advocate and ambassador for SEED in your community
• Serve a renewable three-year term
