Program Manager, Edge Program (Virtual)
This role is part of an exciting program currently being launched at SEED, the EDGE Program (funded by OSD). We’re looking for individuals who are comfortable with change, eager to contribute to a new initiative, and ready to help shape its success from the ground up.
The EDGE Program is an early intervention program that provides targeted employment focused programing for youth (ages 18-26), who are connected to Employment Support Income Assistance (ESIA), or at risk of becoming connected. As the program is delivered online, they will engage with youth in a virtual setting.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Program Manager is responsible for all aspects of the successful delivery of the EDGE program. The Program Manager will lead the overall development, implementation and evaluation of the program.

Duties:
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the EDGE Program
• Hire, train and manage all staff as required
• Plan and manage budgets for the program (in collaboration with Senior Manager)
• Establish administrative procedures to meet objectives of the program guidelines
• Complete program evaluations and analyze data to identify program improvement opportunities
• Monitor and develop internal reporting mechanisms
• Ensure all funding reports are completed and submitted on a timely basis.
• Focus on improving the EDGE Program and help it grow to better support youth
• Provide support to program staff and youth
• Maintain a relationship with our funders at the Department of Opportunities and Social development (OSD)
• Oversee and assist with the development and facilitation of a range of activities and workshops
• Complete all intakes/assessment with program case manager and assess youths’ readiness for the program
• Provide case management duties to youth who have interviewed but need further preparation to be ready for the program
• Maintain timely and accurate case management records using the LaMPPS database and internal reporting mechanisms
• Facilitate the weekly case management meeting with all EDGE staff to discuss youth progress and updates
• Attend workshops twice a week to stay connected to the youth and provide support to workshop facilitators
• Recruit referrals and hold information sessions as necessary
Qualifications:
Experience & Education
• Post-secondary education in social work, child and youth care, psychology, or other social science or health related discipline.
• Minimum of four (4) years of managerial experience, with a focus on guiding and supporting frontline staff in their work with youth.
• Experience hiring, training, and mentoring staff to ensure they are well-equipped to deliver impactful support to participants, and that the EDGE program operates effectively and with a youth-centered approach.
• Experience in delivering group and individual supports to marginalized and at-risk youth in areas such as employability, career development, life skills, and education/literacy.
• Experience with budget management and creation
• Experience working with clients connected to ESIA, including an understanding of related barriers and government policies
• Experience in well-rounded program development and improvement practices
Client Support & Intervention Skills
• Ability to recognize common barriers to employment faced by OSD clients (i.e. poverty, education, home life, life skills), particularly those linked to ESIA

Mental Wellness Coordinator, EDGE Program (Virtual)

The EDGE Program is an early intervention program that provides targeted employment focused programing for youth (ages 18-26), who are connected to Employment Support Income Assistance (ESIA), or at risk of becoming connected. As the program is delivered online, they will engage with youth in a virtual setting.
Reporting to the Program Manager at EDGE, the Mental Wellness Coordinator provides virtual group and one-on one support to help participants discover and overcome challenges both within the program and in their personal lives. They will focus on fostering a positive and supportive environment within the EDGE Program, encouraging participants to prioritize their emotional and mental health.
Duties:
• Meet with youth one-on-one to address their individual mental health needs and concerns
• Completes assessments to determine the youth’s mental health concerns and needs
• Providing support to youth regarding innovative mental health solutions
• Provides personalized guidance and assistance to youth struggling with various challenges, whether related to the program, work, or personal life
• Establish individualized mental wellness plans with youth
• Designs and facilitates group sessions focused on building coping mechanisms and managing stress, including topics such as anxiety management, overall wellness, self care
• Work in collaboration with the EDGE Team for optimal programming support and mental health connections
• Train and educate staff to increase competency in this area and to understand the limitations of the supports that they can provide
• Propose appropriate programs and develop curriculum to promote mental wellness and create a library of resource materials for staff, youth and families
• Provide rapid response to stressful family situations for youth as they transition to independence
• Connect clients to provincial mental health system (where applicable)
• Connect and collaborate with provincial mental health systems to establish a referral system that connects EDGE participants to these services in a timely manner
• Pursue ongoing professional development, to remain responsive to the evolving needs of clients
• Maintain accurate client files while adhering to internal and professional privacy protocols
• Develop partnerships and collaborations within the community to provide support to youth

Qualifications
• Graduation from an accredited graduate school with a degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Extensive experience working with youth, young adults and adults with mental health issues, illnesses, past trauma and family issues.
• Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in mental health interventions for youth, young adults and families
• Demonstrated expertise with collaborative case management, working within a multi- disciplinary team environment, and preforming mental health assessments
• Experience in developing content and facilitating group sessions (including topics such as anxiety management, overall wellness, self care, coping mechanisms and managing stress)
• Experience in creation of individualized mental wellness plans
• Recent and substantial experience in the direct delivery of work with youth at risk
• Experience working with youth in the capacity of conflict management
• Knowledge of youth and family resources, programs and services within the community and within the province

Case Manager, EDGE Program (Virtual)

As the program is delivered online, the Case Manager will engage with youth in a virtual setting.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Case Manager is responsible for all case management of youth. They will meet one on one with youth, complete assessments, identify areas of strengths and weaknesses and work with them to determine and work towards their employment, life and social goals.

Duties:
• Case manage approximately 50-100 youth on an annual basis including development of personalized intervention strategies
• Review youths’ background information; complete intakes and assessments
• Assess youths’ strengths and needs; work to identify and help decrease barriers to success (i.e. poverty, education, home life, life skills, etc.)
• Work with youth and other members of the EDGE team to build a case plan based on their goals and needs.
• Meet with youth every 1-2 weeks to provide support and to work on goals; assess progress and discuss any difficulties
• Work to identify and address any obstacles that might hinder a youths’ progress (i.e.. childcare, transportation, or communication issues)
• Develop partnerships and collaborate with community to support the development of services for the target population.
• Refer youth to other social services or community providers where necessary(i.e. legal, medical, financial assistance, housing, transportation, day care etc.)
• Maintain contact with other social service agencies involved with the youth to provide information and obtain feedback on overall progress (within the boundaries of privacy protocols).
• Maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research and provide details to program manager for LAMPSS reporting.
• Maintain timely and accurate records to satisfy Department of Opportunities & Social Development (OSD) requirements and internal reporting processes.
• Attend weekly case management meetings with all EDGE staff to discuss youth progress and updates
• Represent SEED within the network of youth focused service providers

Job Developer, EDGE Program (Virtual)

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Job Developer will focus on employment attachment, working with the youth to determine their skills, and interests. The Job Developer will connect with employers to secure partnerships and job opportunities.

Workshop Facilitator & Post Intervention Support, EDGE Program (Virtual)

The EDGE Program is an early intervention program that provides targeted employment focused programing for youth (ages 18-26), who are connected to Employment Support Income Assistance (ESIA), or at risk of becoming connected. As the program is delivered entirely online, they will engage with youth in a virtual setting.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Workshop Facilitator & Post Intervention Support is responsible for content development, facilitating all employment related workshops and providing post-intervention support to youth who have advanced to employment.
Duties:
• Educate and enhance youth skills by developing and facilitating workshops on a range of topics (effective job search strategies, resume & cover letter preparation, networking, life skills, and other employability skills).
• Implement instruction techniques that are suitable for a variety of learning styles and virtual learning
• Incorporate diversity to create a safe and welcoming space
• Create and review weekly self-reflection assignments for the youth
• Organize and facilitate training for youth as well as arrange guest speakers that relate to employment development
• Develop content that increases employability and life/career skills while focusing on building self-confidence, empowerment and community awareness.
• Evaluate results and outcomes, modify content (as required)
• Maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research. Provide details to program manager for LaMPSS reporting
• Keep accurate records of participant progress and insights gathered during workshops
• Attend a weekly case management meeting with all EDGE staff to discuss youth progress and updates
• Provide post-intervention support to youth once they have become employed to enhance their ability to remain connected to employment
• Must be willing to cross train and assume other duties as needed
Qualifications
• Degree or post-secondary education in Adult Education or related field of study (or a combination of education and work experience).
• Two (2) years experience in workshop facilitation
• Understanding of adult learning principles
• Experience facilitating in a virtual setting and strong computer skills
• Facilitation skills and a strong understanding of employment topics including resume development, skills development, financial literacy, networking, etc.
• Experience creating and facilitating employment workshops
• Ability to design, organize and implement group sessions with diverse groups
• Experience working with youth attached to ESIA, including having a clear understanding of the relevant government policies
• Ability to recognize existing barriers to employment frequently present with OSD clients (poverty, education, home life, life skills, etc.) especially those connected to ESIA
• Excellent knowledge of community supports and resources, and ability to incorporate this into workshop content
